Celebrating their musical journey of over three decades, the quartet has ceaselessly captivated audiences globally with their performances.
Prestigious accolades have hailed the quartet's recordings. Their renditions of Dvorak Op.34/Op.105 have been recognised as a 'Recording of the Year' by MusicWeb International. BBC Music Magazine extolled their Dvorak Op.61 recording as 'the finest recorded performance encountered to date.' Further acclaim graced their Schubert G Major performance, receiving an 'Outstanding' from International Record Review.
During the 2012/13 season, the quartet achieved the esteemed position of Czech Chamber Music Society Resident Ensemble at the Rudolfinum Dvorak Hall, Prague. Unforgettable were their concerts, the first-ever cycle of Beethoven Quartets in Prague, and the encore in London.
The Wihan Quartet has won numerous International Competitions, including The Prague Spring Festival and the Osaka 'Chamber Festa'. The highlight of their illustrious career is winning both the First Prize and the Audience Prize in the London International String Quartet Competition in 1991.
